Historical Background
We opened our doors to students in the fall of 1994. As an independent Catholic school within the Diocese of Fall River School System we are not directly affiliated with a particular parish church however many collaborative efforts are enjoyed and maintained with the nearby Holy Trinity Church as well as several other area Catholic churches.
The founders of our school were three Sisters of Mercy; Sister Carol, Sister Terrance, and Sister Rose. They had the idea to establish our school because they believed there was an extreme need to provide a Catholic Education to students of Cape Cod. Working with a very limited budget, these women had lots of love and ambition which helped them carry their dream forward. Sister Carol remained as an active participant of Holy Trinity as our school’s Principal until her passing in 2004. The loving and nurturing learning environment she established is continued today as part of Holy Trinity’s philosophy.
During our first year we had thirty-one students enrolled in grades Kindergarten through Second Grade. The following year, attendance more than doubled increasing to 82 students. One grade level per year was added to keep up with our growth until stopping at grade eight. We attribute much of our success to the strong education provided, caring and nurturing instructors and small classroom numbers. In 2005 a decision was made by the Diocese of Fall River to add two levels of pre-kindergarten to our school and transfer out the middle school grades, 6-8, to a newly opened Catholic middle school in the area. Since 1994 many transformations have taken place and we have emerged as a true elementary school that is still a sought after choice for private education.
Today we are proud to educate more than 100 children from various towns on Cape Cod. Our students are not only taught the mandated Massachusetts curriculum, they are provided schooling in religion, art, music physical education, theatre, social studies, science and computer technology. In addition, we strongly promote, values, respect, justice and principles as sound moral tools to use as they progress along their path to the future.
